El Paso Community College (EPCC) Risk Management Institute (RMI) hosted a series of presentations called OSHA Update 2023 at the Administrative Services Center Auditorium. The El Paso Area Office of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) presented topics such as OSHA Update, by Diego Alvarado, Area Director; Risk Management Institute - Why Safety? by Frank Olivas, OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer; 811 Call Before You Dig by Doug Meeks, Damage Prevention Manager and Compliance Assistance Update by Abraham Arzola, Compliance Assistance Specialist.

Along with these presentations, three breakout sessions ran concurrently and were provided by EPCC-RMI, the University of Texas at Arlington, and OSHCON. The breakout sessions were OSHA Recordkeeping Requirements, presented by Frank Olivas, EPCC Risk Management Institute; Trenching, Excavation and Soil Mechanics Workshop by Adrian Loera, University of Texas at Arlington, and A Proactive Approach to Safety by Patricia A. Novelo from OSHCON.

EPCC Risk Management Institute (RMI) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have maintained an alliance since 2017 to promote worker safety and health. In recognition of this ongoing commitment, EPCC-RMI and OSHA continue to acknowledge the value of maintaining a collaborative relationship to improve safety and health in American workplaces, and commit to continue their work together through an Alliance Program Ambassador relationship.
