Rep. Tony Gonzales, who has represented Texas’s 23rd District in the U.S. Congress since 2021, recently took to social media to address several key issues. Born in 1980 and currently residing in San Antonio, Gonzales is a graduate of Excelsior College with a Bachelor of Science degree.

On June 16, 2025, Rep. Gonzales announced his advancement of a bill aimed at providing full funding for veterans’ healthcare, VA benefits, and programs. In his words: “Rep. Tony Gonzales Advances Bill to Fully Fund Veterans Healthcare, VA Benefits and Programs”.

The following day, on June 17, 2025, he addressed an agricultural issue affecting livestock in Mexico. He emphasized the need for preventative measures against screwworms entering the United States: “Screwworms are attacking cattle in Mexico. We need to pull out ALL the stops to prevent the spread of this deadly parasite in the United States.” He invited readers to learn more through an op-ed co-authored with Rep. Frank Lucas.

Later that day, he commented on immigration policy changes by declaring: “Catch and release = OVER Law and order = RESTORED “. This statement reflects his stance on enforcing stricter immigration controls.
