Rep. Tony Gonzales highlights congressional actions on crime and youth housing

Rep. Tony Gonzales, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 23rd District since 2021, recently highlighted several legislative and policy developments on his social media account.

On July 17, 2025, Gonzales expressed support for recent actions by the U.S. Treasury Department targeting criminal organizations. He wrote, “Dismantling criminal networks is an all-hands-on-deck approach. @USTreasury’s move to go after Tren de Aragua’s assets is the right call. https://t.co/G8t5MR6DlT”.

Later that day, Gonzales announced progress in congressional appropriations for youth housing initiatives. He stated, “NEW: House Appropriations PASSED ‘The First Lady Melania Trump Youth Foster to Independence Initiative’ to fund housing for youth aging out of the foster care system. Proud to champion this important priority in Congress. @SecretaryTurner @FLOTUS https://t.co/1GSUtHRpIm”.

On July 19, 2025, Gonzales commemorated legislation he sponsored honoring a fallen Border Patrol agent: “Last year, my bill to rename the Uvalde Border Patrol Checkpoint after Agent James Dominguez was signed into law. Agent Dominguez tragically passed away in the line of duty in 2012. Grateful to commemorate the renaming of the Uvalde Border Patrol Checkpoint in his honor this https://t.co/vegx9rAkTi”.

Gonzales, born in 1980 and currently residing in San Antonio, has served as a member of Congress since 2021 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College.
