Rep. Tony Gonzales, a U.S. Congressman from Texas, recently posted a series of messages on his X (formerly Twitter) account addressing national defense, agriculture, and international affairs.
On October 12, 2025, Gonzales expressed appreciation for former President Donald Trump’s actions during a government shutdown, writing, “Thank you President Trump for putting our national defense above politics during this Schumer shutdown. “
Later that day, Gonzales marked National Farmers Day by highlighting his work with the agricultural community in Texas. He stated, “Today is #NationalFarmersDay.
I’ve been on the road in Texas this year meeting with farmers, ranchers, & industry leaders.

On October 13, 2025, Gonzales commented on the release of hostages by Hamas, attributing the outcome to former President Trump and expressing hope for peace. He wrote, “After 738 days, the innocent men & women who have been held hostage by Hamas have been released. Our prayers have been answered.
Thank you, President Trump. May lasting PEACE prosper. “
Gonzales has served as the U.S. Representative for Texas’s 23rd congressional district since 2021. In the 2024 general election, he defeated Santos Limon with 62.3% of the vote. Previously, he won elections in 2022 against John Lira and in 2020 against Gina Ortiz Jones.
