Rep. Tony Gonzales, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 23rd district, has shared updates on legislative efforts aimed at supporting military personnel and their families through a series of tweets posted on September 9 and 10, 2025.

In one post dated September 9, Gonzales highlighted the focus of new policies: “These policies support San Antonio’s STRONG military installations, increase staffing at child development centers, improve commissaries on our military bases, & increase the Family Separation Allowance for our military families. Looking forward to getting this bill across the”. On the same day, he detailed additional provisions included in the legislation: “This bill includes a raise for ALL servicemembers, enhanced medical care for military personnel, & housing, dining, & child development center upgrades. As we fine-tune the bill, 6 of my provisions to this package were added TODAY.”

On September 10, Gonzales posted a message of support directed toward a public figure: “My prayers are with Charlie Kirk and his family. https://t.co/1UnUbEnvjC”

Rep. Gonzales has served in Congress since winning his first election in 2020 against Gina Ortiz Jones by a margin of approximately four percentage points. He subsequently secured re-election in both 2022 and 2024, defeating John Lira and Santos Limon respectively.
