99 percent of applicants to Sul Ross State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Sul Ross State University, 68 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 58 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Alpine enrolled 2,739 students in fall 2018, including 2,137 in undergraduate and 602 in graduate programs, data shows. 11.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

98 percent of undergraduates are residents of Texas, and 2 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (64 percent) and white (23 percent).

The school admitted 99 percent of the 785 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 44 percent enrolled.
