Austin-Round Rock metro surpass Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford in 2019

The Austin-Round Rock metro area exported $12.5 billion in 2019, more than exports from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford in 2019, according to the International Trade Administration.

A study from the Brookings Institute found competition between areas within the United States increases exports, which in turn generates stronger sales and more jobs for American workers.

The Austin-Round Rock metro area consists of five counties.

The Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford metro area comprises three counties exporting $11.8 billion in 2019.

The metro area with the most exports was Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land with $129.7 billion exported.
