UT Permian Basin Football received a pair of first place votes in the 2022 Lone Star Conference preseason poll the league announced Thursday. The Falcons earned the third most first place votes in the poll and were one of four teams with one. Overall the Falcons were picked to finish fifth out of 10 teams.
Angelo State was tabbed to win the LSC as voted on by the league's coaches, sports information directors, and members of the media. The Rams received 15 first place votes, followed by Midwestern State's nine, the Falcons, then West Texas A&M with one.
