Ramirez's Goal Leads Falcons to First 2-0 Start in Program History

Sometimes one is all it takes to win, and that's all it took for UT Permian Basin Women's Soccer to pick up their second win of the season.  The Falcons scored the only goal of the afternoon early in the second half for the 1-0 win over Sul Ross for the first 2-0 start in program history.

The Falcons were aggressive in the first half but unable to find the net as both sides went into the locker room with just four shots on goal.  Things changed quickly in the second half.  Cassandra Ramirez took a long pass from Alexis Ramos and put it past the keeper, just 26 seconds into the half, for the 1-0 lead.  They continued to push the pace from there, registering 14 shots in the second half despite struggling to score.  The one goal was all they needed though for Jenna McEnaney to post her second clean sheet in as many contests.

The Falcons are back in action Friday against Wayland Baptist.  Download the UTPB Athletics App to follow the team all season long.
