Entering a new conference in 2022-23, both UT Permian Basin Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving were tabbed to finish fourth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason Polls announced Wednesday. The poll is voted upon by the league's head coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own program.
The women received 29 points in their poll, just ahead of Western Colorado, out of eight teams. Colorado Mesa received all but one first place vote, which went to Colorado School of Mines.
The men were a close pick with the Falcons coming in just behind Colorado School of Mines in the five team poll. Colorado Mesa was also picked to win the league, with Oklahoma Christian receiving one first place vote.
The 2023 RMAC Swimming and Diving Championships will be held at El Pomar Natatorium in Grand Junction, Colo., beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 8. The event will span four days with closing ceremonies taking place on Saturday, Feb. 11. Tickets for the event are available for purchase on the RMAC Swimming and Diving Championships page.
