The Northwest Art, Counseling and Library Departments created a Haunted House inside the Northwest Library for students and the community. The idea of constructing a Haunted House was committee driven and was comprised of counselors, professors, librarians, staff and students. It was a design (rooms, hallways, entrance, exit, etc.) that incorporated Halloween decor and created a path that students enjoyed going through over and over again. There was no mimicking of any kind of scenes such as an abandoned hospital, or any other movie scenario, but a traditional homegrown environment that everyone enjoyed. Faculty, students, and staff were part of the Haunted House as they used their skills to entertain and scare their guests.
There was a costume contest, a pumpkin walk and a spooky musical chair contest, not to mention many candies to munch on. As students came into the Haunted House they experienced a wide range of emotions from excitement to fear. At the end, they were greeted with a bag of popcorn to ease their fright.
Until next year's Haunted House……… BOOOOOOOO!!!
