In the second outing of the season the Prairie View A&M women's golf team claimed a first-place finish at the Alabama A&M Fall Invite Tuesday, afternoon at the RTJ at Hampton Golf Course. This marked the first tournament title for the Lady Panthers.
Senior Iman Abraham powered her way to a third-place spot at the event, coming in three strokes behind Alabama State's Medalist. Entering the final day of play after leading all players, the veteran carded the lowest in the first round of the event. Abraham turned in a final card of 78-85=163 for the event, marking her best outing of her career.
Senior Taylor Harvey played a huge role in the Lady Panthers finish, completing her day with a fourth-place tie, scoring her best outing of the season. Although she placed tied for fourth she finished one stroke over her teammate Abraham. She fired a 79-85=164 over the two-day event.
Senior Olivia Billips completed the two-day event tied for 10th shooting an 88-83=171 also her best outing of the season. Junior Shani Waite 91-88+179 posted her best outing of the season as well, while Olivia Tolliver finished 20th in the field after tallying a 96-89+185 respectively.
The Lady Panthers will return to the course Nov. 14-15 at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Collegiate Invitational in Birmingham, Ala at Oxmoor Valley.
