Prairie View women's basketball each had an opportunity to shine on Monday, evening as the Panthers defeated the Lady Bulldogs in 100-66 victory.
The Panthers return home after a quick trip to Oregon over the weekend.
Diana Rosenthal topped her career high of 30 points by one point to lead the way with 31 points. Rosenthal was 3-for-8 from the 3-point range, while going 4-for-5 from the free-throw line. She also collected one assist, and five steals.
The Panthers collectively scored 59 of its points from the bench, with Kennedi Heard scoring 14 points along with three steals, Jaliyah Harpers put in 11 points. Kennedy Paul and Jessica Soders chipped in nine points apiece.
The Panthers had a season high of 20 steals, led by Rosenthal's five, Mikayla Hutchinson's four, and Heards three, while Gerlyn Smith blocked two shots and Soders and Hudson each posted one apiece.
The Bulldogs were dominate on the glass, out-rebounding the Panthers 43-34.
Despite a slow start, the Panthers were down by two and the end of the first quarter (21-19). PVAMU heated up and started to pull away, outscoring the Lady Bulldogs 30-12 in the second quarter and 28-17 in the third, closing out the final frame 23-16 to take the game 100-66.
The Panthers will return to action Wednesday, November 30 when they take a visit to Gainesville, Fla. to face Florida for after Thanksgiving play.
