There were 116 students enrolled in Sierra Blanca ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.7% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 56.9% of them were boys, and 43.1% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 69% of the Sierra Blanca ISD total enrollment.

Sierra Blanca ISD roughly covers schools within Hudspeth County with its main office in Sierra Blanca.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
