How many Hispanic students were enrolled in Valentine ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 25 Hispanic students enrolled in Valentine ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 13.6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Valentine ISD schools welcomed 44 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 56.8% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the district.

Valentine ISD roughly covers schools within Jeff Davis County and has a main office in Valentine.

Valentine School was the only school in the district which enrolled Hispanic students, welcoming 25 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
