There were 19 white students enrolled in Valentine ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 58.3% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Valentine ISD schools welcomed 44 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 43.2% of the student body to be the least represented ethnicity in the district.

Valentine ISD roughly covers schools within Jeff Davis County and has a main office in Valentine.

Valentine School was the only school in the district which enrolled white students, welcoming 19 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
