Enrollment Analysis: white students comprised 36.4% of Terrell County ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 47 white students enrolled in Terrell County ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.2% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Terrell County ISD schools welcomed 129 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 36.4% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Terrell County ISD roughly covers schools within Terrell County and has a main office in Sanderson.

Sanderson Schools was the only school in the district which enrolled white students, welcoming 47 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
