On December 7, 2024, Rep. Gonzales commemorated the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attacks with a tweet reflecting on the enduring legacy of those who served during that time. He stated, "Today marks 83 years since the attacks on Pearl Harbor—a day that will live in infamy. We will always remember the bravery, service, and heroism embodied by the Greatest Generation."

The following day, December 8, 2024, Rep. Gonzales announced his support for legislation aimed at improving veterans' housing conditions. He tweeted about his vote for the Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act: "This week, I voted for the Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act which will enhance housing accessibility for veterans with service-related disabilities.
