Rep. Tony Gonzales, U.S. Representative for Texas’s 23rd congressional district, shared updates on national security efforts, legislative progress on school safety, and personal reflections about his family in a series of posts between September 6 and September 8, 2025.

On September 8, Gonzales shared a personal message about his grandfather’s influence: “My grandfather was my guiding light growing up. He was a WWII veteran & a mechanic at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio. I followed his footsteps, joined the military, & lean on his lessons to this day.

Gonzales has represented Texas’s 23rd district since first winning election in 2020 against Gina Ortiz Jones with 50.6% of the vote to Jones’s 46.6%. He was reelected in subsequent cycles—defeating John Lira in 2022 with nearly 56% of the vote and Santos Limon in 2024 with over 62%. These victories reflect continued support from constituents across multiple election cycles.
