Rep. Tony Gonzales, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 23rd district and Chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Conference, recently shared several posts on social media addressing themes of freedom, faith, remembrance, and community heritage.

On September 14, 2025, Gonzales posted about the foundational role of freedom in American society: “Freedom is at the core of our nation. The freedom to share different beliefs and engage in debate is what makes our country a beacon among the rest. Charlie Kirk should be alive today—his mission will live on.” In this message, he both underscored the value of open discourse and paid tribute to Charlie Kirk.

Later that day, Gonzales shared a passage from scripture: “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16. This tweet offered a spiritual message focused on peace.

On September 15, 2025, marking the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, Gonzales reflected on his district’s cultural significance: “As we kick off Hispanic Heritage Month today, I’m grateful to represent a district like #TX23. From South to West Texas, our communities have a deep historical importance and a rich culture that values family, faith, and freedom. As Chairman of the @HispanicConf, it’s my honor”.

Gonzales has represented Texas’s 23rd congressional district through multiple election cycles. He secured victories against Gina Ortiz Jones in 2020 (50.6% to 46.6%), John Lira in 2022 (55.9% to 38.8%), and Santos Limon in 2024 (62.3% to 37.7%). These electoral results highlight his continued support within his district over recent years.
