Women’s Cross Country Get Set for Clifton Gilliard Invite

Three women’s squads will compete Thursday in the annual Clifton Gilliard Cross Country Invite meet, to be held on the beautiful campus of Prairie View A&M University.

Joining the host team Lady Panthers in the 5k run, scheduled for 9 a.m., features SWAC School Texas Southern and North American University.

The lineup for PVAMU will include just six runners.  Junior Naomi Davis led PVAMU in their last meet this fall at the Texas A&M Invitational Sept. 16 finishing with a time of 21:48.6.  PVAMU’S next three runners that crossed the finish line in the same race were sophomore Jourdan Garnett (22:02.9), junior Shelby Devereaux (22:14.1), and freshman Laila Diaz (25:07.0).

The meet is open to the public and admission is free.  The meet will start behind the football stadium.
