Women's Golf in the Lead After Round One of Music City Invite

After the opening round of the Music City Invitational, UT Permian Basin Women's Golf leads as a team for the first time in program history.  The Falcons are +5 and have three individuals in the top 10.

Anaya Perales has played her best golf of the fall and is one off the lead at -2 (70).  Back-to-back birdies on 12 and 13 keyed her run to challenge for the overall lead.  Just behind her at E (72) is Arnie Taguines who fought off a slow start to sit tied for sixth.  Eugenie Varet is tied for ninth at +2 (74) and her round included an eagle on hole 2.  Kayla Perera carded a +5 (77) to sit tied for 21st while Keixa Lopez is tied for 32nd at +8 (80) through the opening round.

The Falcons have a three-shot lead on No. 13 Missouri - St. Louis heading into the final round at the Old Fort Golf Club in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  Download the UTPB Athletics App to follow the team all season long.
