Rep. Tony Gonzales, who has represented Texas's 23rd District in the U.S. Congress since 2021, recently addressed significant issues through a series of tweets. Gonzales, a San Antonio resident and Excelsior College graduate, focused on school safety and immigration concerns.

On March 26, 2025, Rep. Gonzales highlighted the tragic event that occurred on May 24, 2022, when "19 kids and 2 teachers were killed in a senseless act of violence" at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde. He noted that threats against schools persist and mentioned that Congress is advancing legislation aimed at enhancing school safety. "On May 24, 2022, 19 kids and 2 teachers were killed in a senseless act of violence in my district at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde. Since that tragic day, threats against our schools continue to take place."

Later that day, he criticized current border policies by stating they have resulted in an immigration crisis where "HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of unaccompanied minors" have gone missing. He called for accountability and action to protect vulnerable populations affected by these policies. "Four years of failed border policies led to an overwhelming immigration crisis that caused HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of unaccompanied minors to go missing."
